For many years now, I have been actively sharing insights and experiences to my fellow countrymen in a forum created by a friend and colleague dedicated to Canadian Immigration. The wonderful feature of our forum -- modesty aside -- is that it is geared towards our people as well as focused on Canadian immigration: from the start where research and decisions are necessary, to the actual process of applying, what expectations should be, to the arrival, struggles, permanent residency, citizenship and finally to the successful integration. It is a virtual medium wherein we do our best to help and inspire but with no claims of being the experts or specialists.
In the course of our sharings using aliases or usernames, I have realized that many of my posts have elicited enthusiasm and inspiration to many who were and are contemplating this new life. I was and am able to create optimism as would-be and new immigrants face the challenge of emigration and have helped them be mentally, emotionally and spiritually prepared to be positive in a realistic way.
Through this forum, I have met many other members who have become friends, even chums. We now have a face behind the (user)name. They are now our extended family as we embrace this foreign country as our new homeland. Being one of the very first to settle in our group, we do our best to serve as their cheerleaders as they get into the game called immigration.
As I have found my strength as a guide to these new Canadians, I decided to expand my reach to more people who would like to come to Canada and make it their home, beyond our forum family and to a bigger world out there.
Expect my blog to describe as it is in my viewpoint and experience. I have to warn you that I am a perennial optimist, a positive person and a consistent church-goer. I AM realistic but am constantly hopeful. If you are looking to read about the bad and the ugly, you may not want to read or follow me as I have the knack to turn this into something beautiful that we can learn from. But if you want to be inspired and be prepared for challenges in an optimistic way, then Lingering Reflections is right for you.
